Welcome to Finding Propaganda.
This site is dedicated to promoting information literacy in the digital age. Misinformation, disinformation, and general manipulation are rampant in online environments. It can be difficult to discern what is true from what is false and from what is being used to manipulate them. This is site is broken into two categories: “Critical Thinking” and “Propaganda.”
The Guide to Critical Thinking page is dedicated to addressing matters of information literacy, pseudoscience, cognitive biases and logical fallacies. I also work to assess current events and ideologies within the realm of critical thinking because the people most adept at fooling us, are ourselves.
Everyone has seen history’s propaganda posters, usually from times of war, but in the digital age, propaganda takes on a new format. Never before have propagandists had the ability to create and curate content designed specifically for your own private consumption. Manipulative content sent directly to your viewing. The Propaganda category is designed to tackle rapidly changing patterns within digital propaganda and organized disinformation campaigns.
With these tools, it is my hope that one can be better armed against disinformation campaigns plaguing the digital realm.
