Alleged certainty

Does *not* apply when things can be known with certainty, like 2+2=4 and the earth is round which are both backed by intense evidence.

The “appeal to common sense” is a more specific version of alleged certainty. “Common sense” is a social construct under which we tend to perceive and interpret information within shared beliefs rather than on a factual basis.
